  • Edinburgh Castle

    Only a 25 minute walk away to this iconic scottish castle. A Royal Palace and Fortress at the top of the Royal Mile where scottish kings and queens lived and held parliament.

    Visit the magnificent Great Hall and The Crown Room which houses the Stone of Destiny on which kings and queens of Scotland were crowned. Also housed in the Crown Room are the crown jewels known as The Honours of Scotland.

    St Margaret’s Chapel - the serene and beautiful tiny chapel of Queen Margaret, who married Malcolm III King of Scots 1058 - 1093 (Malcolm Canmore , ceann mor , gaelic for great chief) and who brought the formal roman religion to scotland.

    Visit the bedchamber of `Mary Queen of Scots and the birth chamber where she gave birth in 1566 to her son James VI of Scotland

  • The Scottish National Portrait Gallery

    A few minutes walk away you can see A Story of Scotland in Art. A magnificent red sandstone, neo-gothic palace designed by Sir Robert Rowand Anderson as a shrine for Scotland's heroes and heroines. Opened in 1889, held here is the national collection of portraits, all of which are of Scots but not all are by Scots!

    A very special experience with its glittering friezes, evocative murals and stunning architecture.

  • Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh

    A short 15 minute walk will bring you to the beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens of Edinburgh. Here you can visit the magnificent Glass Houses opened in 1967 to house the exotic plants collected by various Scottish explorers and now home to a rare and wonderful collection of exotic flora.

    Situated at Ocean Terminal. A 10 minute bus ride will have you in The Royal Yacht. Get a taste of what life on board was like for the Royals and Crew and to top it all have soup and sandwiches or a delicious scone in the cafe with its fabulous sea views. A great attraction!
